how long are police checks valid for please

Hi for the purposes of visa, 1 year and i believe you need to validate your visa before this police check is up. This is why a lot of people dont have them done until asked by their CO's. Hope this helps, sure there are some more knowledgeable people out there!

Just wondering whether you are able to apply for the police check in advance before sending visa(OH had a few minor incidents when he was young) and then if needed apply for another later on, if visa takes a long time to process?
We were filling out form 80 and it asks on there for dates of convictions and court details etc.. OH has not got a very clear memory of these details, so we thought that it may be better and more accurate to apply for police check.
Sorry for waffling on.... any advise much appreciated

Hi Luula,
If you feel a little unsure, it only costs £10 each for a police check so if you want to check any details out before CO requests, your not going to be losing alot of money are you

We have applied for our police checks already, I just wanted to check that there was restrictions to applying for these checks again, once we'd already had them done. You're right another £10.00 is nothing compared to all the other costs, the list goes on and on and on...!
