Question Valid IELTS for work visa or expired ielts will do?

I am a registered nurse and I have submitted the requirements (April 2012) to gain an AHPRA eligibility and a slot in Australia's bridging course. I have included my IELTS result with a band score of 7.5. My IELTS just expired this October, however, an institution informed me that I have gained a position into the Feburary 2013 bridging course, meaning they may have used my expired ielts and I have asked the program program coordinator re. my expired ielts. She said "[my] current ielts is satisfactory". Anyway, will I still be needing to take another IELTS exam for a work visa or can I just use my expired ielts?

DIAC rules are pretty straight forward in this area, IELTS results must be current. Other institutions may apply their own rules, as you have found out, but that has no bearing on the visa process

The validity duration of the IELTS can vary (in some cases only 12 months) depending on the visa - for the 186 it is currently 3 years.
