Exclamation URGENT!! VETASSESS/Records Manager- 2299-13

Hi all,

I have a question in my mind. But before that let me give some basic information regarding myself.

1) My age is under 29 - 30 points

2) I have 3 years full-time degree (Bachelor Of Computer Application) and 2 years full-time master degree (M.Sc. Information & Communication Technology) from India. Currently, I am working as Software Developer (.NET) and have 2 years of full-time experience. - How much point?

3) I have my relative who is going to sponsor me. - 25 points

4) I have got overall 7.5 bands in IELTS (Note: I have not got 7 bands in each section) - 15 points

How much point?

Now, as far as I know, VETASSESS doesn't look at work experience to assess your skill based on your qualification. So, can I get 50 points if I assess my skill through VETASSESS for Records Manager (2299-13)?

IMPORTANT NOTE: When applying for visa, I have to show DIMIA that I am working as Software Developer (.NET) not as Records Manager. Which won't going to match with my skill assessment. Can it be problematic for them?

If I get 50 points then I think I have total 120 points for my visa application.

30 for age + 50 for skills + 15 for IELTS + 25 for sponsorship = 120 points.

Please provide necessary guidance.

Thanks in Advanced!!

Could not understand you!! You are a software developer ..How you can be assesed as a record manager ( Not sure what does record manager means..but this is not at all related to Software Development)? You need to be assesed by ACS and you need min 4 years of exp!!

It is not unknown for nominated occupation and work experience to be different. Sometimes it works, sometimes not, but your statement on the surface is incorrect.

Hi Pollyana,

I think you misunderstood me. By showing the link, I didn't ask to post on another forum. I have just asked to get reference from it. Isn't it allowed?

Although a difference between nominated occupation and work experience is possible, an applicant's qualification will still need to be assesed whether the applicant work experience is conducted with a satisfactory qualification or skill level. It is a less convoluted if the thread starter (TS) nominates the IT jobs, as his points will be maximised, if it is positively by ACS, and he will also save money by doing only one skill assesment.

Hi INDOAUS,

Yes you are 100% right but I have only 2 years of total full-time experience that doesn't satisfy ACS requirement of minimum 4 years of full-time experience. And I don't want to wait for 2 more years if it's possible to get Visa using other options.

That's why I am intending to assess my qualification (IT degree - BCA & M.Sc. ICT) through VETASSESS for Records Manager(2299-13), which is also in SOL and MODL.

After getting my skill assessment from VETASSESS, I can show my 2 years of work experience as Software Developer(ASCO Code 2231-19) to DIMIA, which is definitely in SOL and MODL.

I know it's convoluted but legal. So what you people think? Should I hire any agent or I can directly lodge my visa application?

My apologies, guys, if you are so sensitive about it. I don't mean to criticize, I was just telling the truth and I think that there's nothing wrong in telling the truth. Peace, MATES!!!!

My understanding is that all Vetasses does is assess your qualificaitons against Australian degrees and diplomas. Could be a moot point but I am struggling with the concept of having your skills as a record manager assessed by vetassess. In that I don't think the occupation is relevant to Vetassess.

My understanding is that if your qualification is judged to be equivalent to an Australian degree then you can apply for a 50 pt occupation from the SOL.

And if your qualification is judged to be equivalent to an Australian diploma then you can apply for a 40 pt occupation from the SOL.

So, I would conclude that you may have difficulty applying under a 60 point occupation such as 2231-19.

Anyway, this is what I puzzled out when I was trying to help out my sister. But I am certainly no expert, I think you should talk to an immigration agent if you are also not sure if you can do this or not..

Thank you Bermudashorts for your reply. I think I have to hire an agent.
