travelling before principal applicant

We have been granted 175 skilled immigration visa. My question is this since my wife is the principal applicant and the visa states that no body can travel before her.
Is there any possibility that we contact the department and they allow me to travel first and my wife can follow with the kids a little later so that I can make arrangements for my family before their arrival. Kindly advise.

You can contact them but I wouldn't have thought they would change an obligation for no real reason.

Many visas don't have this requirement. This one does. You don't have a valid reason for the Primary Applicant to stay back. They are very very unlikely to accede to your request. You have to do what everyone else does, either all come out together permanently, or you all come out and validate together then your wife can go back with the children, DIAC do not impose rules and then relax them just because they don't suit the applicant.

even if people have asked/been granted it before (though I don't remember anyone on here) no-one except your own CO can tell you if they will grant the request as everyone's circumstances are unique.

You need to ask your CO.

Yes, I know of someone who asked for and was granted a waiver of that condition (9504 from memory), so that the wife could travel first to sort out accommodation and schooling whilst her high powered husband had foreign work trips that could not be postponed.

And having done my research, before I got my visa, I asked for it not to be imposed in the first place as it looked at the time as though hubby would need to go before me for job interviews. We travelled together in the end but the condition was not imposed so we could have done if necessary.
