Our Agent has been in touch saying that OH has to provide a Statutory Declaration [Addidavit] to go with the TRA application.
I cannot see why they need this as we have all of his records, certificates etc. which they will have copies of. He done his apprenticeship 20 odd years ago and is with the same company. [even though they were bought out in 2004 and trade under a different name].
Cannot understand why we need this. Has anyone else had the same thing?
Thanks

Did you (or your OH) write a statement saying in your own words what his job is etc?

Yes we wrote down in detail what he done as an apprentice up to what he does now. Just don't understand. Agent says that this is definitely required?
On reading the instruction guide again, it says that a stat dec would be required if you were self employed, or, if the company where apprenticeship done is no longer in existence. Neither of which apply.

No idea then. We didn't send in a stat dec, even though my OH's company had a takeover, and they split in to two companies. We did send a letter from the MD though to explain the situation and we were able to send them two different references on two seperate letterheads.
Ask them for more clarification on what they needs, and why. But if your agent is saying to get it then follow his advice.

Generally when we outsource trade skills assessments to the the highest TRA authorities on the planet, former TRA officers now working privately, they always arrange a CV if they can, it seems almost part of the culture, so I would probably agree with your agent on this one, but in the circumstances it wouldn't need to be all that lengthy.
Cheers,
