Default Teaching in Oz

If you are thinking of working as teacher just beware that it is very
difficult to break in to the Australian system especially in primary
teaching

There is no shortage of Primary teachers - except in difficult or remote
schools.

Supply/Relief teaching is available. Be aware that every State has a system
of Teacher registration of some kind - which requires that you have a 4 year
Education degree or a 3 year Bachelors Degree in any discipline, with a
postgraduate Diploma containing Practice Teaching components, and Education
studies. You also need a totally clear criminal clearance. No registration -
no teaching job in any capacity.
