Taking the Cats !!!
We've got two moggies and the missus insists they emigrate too.
What's the cost and how do we go about this ?
We'll obviously go first and leave them with someone back home who'll forward them on.
What are the quarantine restrictions and the like ?
Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas to you all.

try this link!
30 days quaratine in Aus @ $800 per animal approx. Cat from the UK only need 30 days.
We have been quoted £1253 from 'Airpets' www.airpets.com This is for our '2 cats'.
Haven't got any other quotes yet. As far as I can see they need to be microchipped, and vaccinated at least 14 days not more than 12 months before export.
You need to allow 4-6 weeks to get import clearance from Aus. This permit is valid for 1-2 months.
This quote includes freight, containers, airport fees, delivery to airport and 1 day boarding before, import permit, application for quarrantine space, owners declaration, export certificate, 96 hr prarciticide, sealing of air kennel by airport vet, collection from your home.
I would be interested if you get any better quote or further info.
Cheers

Someone has told me that 2 cats can share quarantine and half the fees is Aus - but don't know if it's true - haven't checked it out yet.

Big Thanks Max,
Much appreciated info there.
We're also heading for Perth / Freo...eventually...hopefully...
I'll have a little foray on the web and see what sort of quotes come back and keep you posted.

I have a Much cheaper suggestion for you:
2 or 3 house bricks, a large sack & a nice stroll down the canal.
Apologies to the cat lovers, couldn't resist
