Fiancee visas (subclass 300) cannot be applied for onshore in
Australia.

Are you talking about something else, eg spouse or de-facto spouse?

Rod
I'm just beginning to wonder if he's talking about applying for a US
fiancee visa, not an Australian one.

If that's the case he's in the wrong newsgroup.

Is she the sponsor, and you're in the UK?

What stage of the application for prospective marriage are you up to.

My fiancé and I have just gone through the motions and weren't asked to
attend an interview.

Just a comment from an Australian point of view, which is that if his
fiancee goes to live in the US she risks losing her Australian
permanent residence. Once she has a US green card without conditions
she may not care about this, otherwise she needs to be careful that if
her relationship ends, she will be left without status in both the US
and Australia.

Australian permanent visas are generally valid for 5 years, so the
door takes time to close. But close it does and people have been
caught in a trap like this before.

Ummm, if you're in the USA, I am pretty sure all visa applications are
processed in Washington DC now. It used to be divided between LA and DC, but
it's all DC now.

. Waiting for second notice.

Well YOU should be receiving all the correspondence on your end, as it's
your application, and she is the sponsor.

    > Please let us know what we should expect??

I really don't know. I am confused with what you are saying. From the
lodgement of the application in SC instead of DC. To her receiving all the
correspondence instead of you.

    > You say you just finished, was it easy process in Australia??

Looking back it was pretty straight forward. We spent 2 months studying the
process and preparing the documents and having things ready to send back as
soon as they were requested.

Total time from application to visa grant was just under 3 months

    > Any suggestions to prepare for??

Well not really. If anything I'd say do your homework before you make the
application. But it appears you've already applied. So I'd say the best
thing to do would be to study up at www.immi.gov.au and become aware of what
is required and what to expect.

Default I will Re-explain.

Thank you guys so so much for your kindness and patience. And for taking the time to help me. Sorry for the confusion. Let me try to reexplain with more details...so sorry...and appreciate your help

My name is Gray. I am Male and in USA. I am in the Vermont Service Center region. My wife-to-b is Suzy and she is citizen born in Philippines, however six months ago she was approved and received her visa to migrate to sydney australia to work .
So I visited Suzy in both Philipines and Sydney six weeks ago, came home filled out I129 petition and sent to VSC. They sent me the notice....(you are right) and now I am waiting on my second NOA2. And when it comes to me. I need to get a serial number off and give to Suzy. and then it is her turn to do some things. She called embassy in sydney and they told her that she would be able to do whatever she needs there in sydney. Her address on the I129 was sydney. Even though a citizen of phillippines. So I hope this wont cause any problems or hold ups from Vermont??????????

so thanks so much. hope this makes better sense

so my questions now::

1. Do you think they told her correctly and she will be able to get the visa in sydney

2. They told Suzy it should only take about a week to do everything. This jus sounds too quick to me?????????
What do you think?

3. What things will she need. She is researching the site you gave but off the top of your head can you remember things like police reports, or anything that would hold us up???

Maybe I am nervous cause it is looking to good to be true to be this fast once I get my 2nd NOA because in Vermont district, it appears evryone are getting them lately in less than 30 days.

thanks for all the help. We appreciate it. God Bless you

Hi Gray
Yes it all makes perfect sense now. However, you're in the wrong newsgroup
mate. Copy and paste your last post to the misc.immigration.usa newsgroup,
and you'll be all set

Regards
Rod.
