Subcass 175-Police check & medical required?
Hi
I just need someone to confirm that for a subclass 175 application do you need a medical & police report. I have looked at the high Commision website & the checklist for this visa does not say these are required! Cheers Stuart:thumbup: |

Yes, you'll need medical examinations and police checks for a S/c 175. |

No, you don't have to provide medical results and police checks when you lodge the application, and in some cases it's better if you don't. They're only valid for 12 months and must be valid when you enter Australia for the first time on your new visa. So the longer their validity, the longer you'll have between the visa being granted and having to make your initial entry.
After you lodge your application you will eventually be allocated a case officer who will check everything you've submitted. Once they're satisfied with the documents you've provided they will ask you to undergo your medical exam and obtain police checks. You will normally be given 28 days to arrange all this. This will happen towards the end of the process and is a useful indicator as to the progress of the application. Hope that makes sense! |

On the other hand, it'll give you longer to enter Australia. It's swings and roundabouts. |

If that is the case can you visit (on my own) to validate the visa (for a couple of days) then return to Uk until ready to emigrate permanantly? |
