Hi I am at the final stages of the visa application process (CO requested final info last week!) having been in Oz since 2003 on a student visa. Most people tend to do trade courses (hairdressing etc) to get the points but I did a PhD. I've found the experience wonderful. I was able to get a scholarship when i arrived (only about $18K a year) so I had cash to live on and worked part-time too. I came as a single person so it was pretty easy - probably a bit harder if you have spouse/kids etc.

It really depends on what area you plan on studying - there's a few people on the forum who are in Aus currently (Paul&Nic spring to mind - Paul did hairdressing).

What do you plan to do?
