Default STNI -- Victoria

Hello,
Please all who have been sponsored under STNI by Vic, Do I need to included my IELTS result while applying for the STNI sponsorship. I have my skilled assessed already and just registered for the IELTS exam which will take another 8 weeks before I can sit for the exam. Do I wait for it or go ahead and send the documents I have now to Vic?

Thansk all for your assistance.

Dare

You can apply for STNI Nomination now itself, as far as STNI Victoria is concerned before applying for nomination you don't require a skills assessment.

If you have already applied for Migration then you can put the migration file number

Hope this helps

Regards
Prem

I applied 2 years ago. No need to provide IELTS result for STNI.

I appreciate your response so much. I went through the old thread on STNI to VIC this morning and got a little scared. I am in IT and major in Networking now. I don't have CISSP which is in VIC's demand list but I have CCNP and I am thinking of going for Security exams offered by Cisco. Do you think my CCNP can earn me Vic's nomination.

Prem, are you in IT? If you are, did you have CISSP when you were nominated?

Thanks and waiting to hear from you all.

I got STNI though Victoria - I have CISSP. They require you to have CISSP or extensive and proven PKI experience. They are not looking for any other IT related specialisations.

To be honest, CISSP is not difficult. I know everything you read says it is and some people retake it loads of times, but I found it a doddle - and if you have the brainpower to get though the Cisco Exams, then you won't have a problem, especially as in the CISSP not all domains carry equal weight in the marking and Networking is one of the higher-weighted domains.

Read the All-in one CISSP Certification Exam Guide by Shon Harris and attend a 5 day exam preparation course, which in the UK at least, run on a regular basis. Then go for the exam. Once you have it, apply for VIC STNI. There still aren't that many CISSP's around, and of those there are, not many will be wanting to emigrate to Oz, so I reckon it'll still be on the list by the time you've qualified.

BTW - ACS assessed me as an IT Systems Manager, not as a security specialist, but Vic sponsored me anyway as the CISSP meant that IUhad what they were looking for, regardless of the ACS assessment.
