Default Still waiting..ZZZZZZZZZZ

G'day sunseekers and others,

Well I've nothing to report yet, except that we've now been waiting exactly
14 months.

I've heard that AHC in London are now on May 2001, but I don't know if
that's team 1 or 2. We're with team 1, if there is a difference!

I'm getting very itchy feet now and the prospect of hearing anything soon
seems like a dream. My biggest fear is that they will turn around and say
'no way, on yer bike!'. I don't know why I feel like this as there is no
reason that I know of, why they wouldn't want us, but I suppose that can do
whatever they want.

I can't help but think that I'm putting to much of myself into this
application and I'm forgetting how to live, but then a little voice inside
my head keeps saying, 'if you didn't worry, then you wouldn't really be
bothered and you shouldn't have applied.'

Oh balls, I'm so peeeeeed off at the moment I'm rambling on and whinging
like a right ol' pommie sheeeelah.

Here endeth the whining, for this month.

Hope everybody else has their dream come true news soon. ADVANCE AUSTRALIA
FAIR!

Cheers

Hi Heidi
Don't worry, it won't be too much longer.

We applied in March 2001, skilled indep, team 1 and after 18 months and 6 days we got the pre-grant letter. We're off to london tomorrow to pick up our visas, can't wait. Barbie on the beach Xmas.

I know what you mean about putting stuff on hold and worrying that after all this time they may say no. Don't worry be happy I'm sure it will happen soon.
Good luck

With such a huge life changing event on the horizon you are bound to put yourself into it...lets face it to actually want to emmigrate to the other side of the world you must have strong feelings regarding the subject!

As for the pessemisitc nature, I guess its just human nature...I am constantly worrying that it will get rejected, even though there is no reason for that to happen! in some respects even though I have applied I cannot actually image going! weird as it may seem, I want to go dont get me wrong but actually getting the visa and thinking right I can emmigrate....its just mind blowing!!!! (damn these exclamation marks are starting to sneak in again....thought I had that one cured ).

Just hold tight...I am sure you will get some news soon.

Good luck

Hi Heidi
Know just how you feel, we too have been waiting exactly 14 months,
Nothing here seems to satisfy me, I hate my job, I am beginning to hate the people I work with, they irritate me!!! I expect I do the same!!
I am about 2 stone overweight now, I wanted a new body before we get to Oz have a fresh start, but somehow I can't focus on anything except Oz. so I might get bigger!!! perish the thought, I start over everyday!!!!

I am getting to the stage where I don't even like going out here too, I keep emptying cupboards, filling charity bags,
even if we don't get excepted then we will have a clutter free house, there's no reason not to except us either, but who knows, we have made a plan B, only my husband said we won't need to use it.

keep you chin up

love Yve

G'day Heidi.......

We're 15 months & waiting!!

Team 1...... Apparently they are lagging a bit behind
team 2.

Hoping to get some form of letter around November.
Police checks are done.......
Getting medicals done in the next couple of weeks, so we
are ready to send both off as soon as we get the letter.

Re: the reply from rday...... I'm a skilled indie Plumber as well.
Going to live in Perth WA..... Any info on plumbing licences we
need to get when we get there?
I've heard some horror stories about having to sit 8 hour
trade tests etc!!!!!!!

Pipe sizes are different, (No 15mm & 22mm)
It's all 10mm & 18mm or something?????

Cheers...... Johnno.........

Hi Heidi

We applied May 31st 2001. Dean (hubbie) is chippie (could start a building business here- Baldy on leccy stuff, Dean with his tools (wood!), John on bog fixing, me on tea making!
Hoping to hear soon as handed notice in yesterday, medicals Oct 1st (does liver damage count!), police checks done and dusted, house offered on (wicked). I know Team 2 are on May so fingers crossed for all the Team 1 guys too.
If they refuse us i will be looking for the nearest high bridge to jump off as have waited so long, havent bothered making new friends really (apart from fellow emigrants), career on hold, small child still ithout sibling etc etc.

Pleease- HC- hear out prayers......

Hi,

Know how you all feel. Its only a year for us so far, but we have already put our plan B into action. We've just sold our house (should be out end of Oct) and we are going to live in France with in laws and wait for our visas there. Money in the bank and just chill out - no work, no bills etc. I cant wait to hand in my notice at work, like you say, everyone is getting on my nerves and I hate my job. Hubbie is a plumber and absolutely hates it too. I'm hoping we've done the right thing but on the other hand cant imagine us staying here and just 'plodding' on.

Sounds like we are all experiencing the same feelings. At least its nice to know you're not the only one going slightly mad!

Heidi

Am feeling v. paranoid today (could be the excess last night?)

What happens if we dont get in? What could go wrong? Who knows (Alan?)? TRA approved, 3 of us lurgy free (as far as we know), no crims in the family, got dosh, now married (so cant even query de facto).

Aaaaaaaaaaaah. Will have no job, no home, no family left as we will be the only ones left.

Someone help. Am i being just a tad silly???

Anyone else feel like this?

Hi Heidi

We're in the same boat as John, been waiting 15 months as well. We
sent off request for Police reports last week in the vain hope that
they will ask us for them soon. Won't tempt fate and get medicals
done just at the moment as need to lose some weight !!!

At least we know others are in the same boat as us - just imagine if
you didn't have this newsgroup and thought it was just you who was
waiting for ages !

Keep hanging in there - good things come to those that wait

Thumbs down Re: Still waiting..ZZZZZZZZZZ

Applied Sept 2001 - team 2.

I have all the above symptoms too, put weight on, damaged liver, sold house, charity bags, hate work, also we have front loaded our apps and our medicals run out in June 2003 (oops!), and AHC London said it will be a 'long time' before we hear from them.

Don't think it is fair that we need to wait so long, and people who have applied to Adelaide are getting processed quicker - we paid the same money. I know someone who applied to Adelaide in January 2002, and called to complain she hadn't heard from them for 8 months and got her visa!

Give AHC London some more resource (they deserve it for putting up with all the moaning, and we deserve it for selling our houses too soon!)

Hello Heidi
I know just how you feel, we are with team one in London and have just had medicals done. We have been waiting 20 months for this i hope that isn't dissapointing for you to read but i think you may have a little longer to wait. I can understand your worries because we are still worried and yes you do forget how to live because it takes over your life completly, but it will be worth it when we can live in Oz. Good luck hope all goes well.

I agree, Don't think its AHC you should complain to. Go to the top,
