We're here! It wasn't quite the non-event I had hoped for as we passed through immi, we did have a reception committee. After we presented our passports to a rather grumpy immigration person he told us that we would have to wait as someone needed to speak to us, we would soon find out why! Had we have been the nervous sort I guess we would have been a bit sweaty at this point but we guessed what it was about. We were then collected by someone from DIAC who said they had been waiting for us to come through, they had heard all about us. We were compared to our passport photos and I handed over the letter we had been sent by the lady at the Perth office which was invaluable. That was it, we were in. We even got through customs in double quick time too.
It's so lovely to be here and to see all the grandchildren has been wonderful. Even our daughter's dog had a light bulb moment when after a lot barking and posing he realised that he had seen us before and we then received a thorough licking.

with the visa grant , all we need to do now is send off the passports to London to have the labels inserted.
Sat here in a daze cant belive that after all this time we have got there.

we are back in Canada - waiting........
our case officer went away in the middle of our troubles and has yet to get in touch with us - our time limit of 49 days has runout but we have done all we can from our end and are awaiting word from the case officer -
I hated to leave my 3 month old granddaughter and her mummy and daddy!)but we talk every day on the phone (way cheaper from oz to canada than vice versa) and we get to hear her giggling and playing which is worth so much
I am sure that you will have a wonderful life out there - all the best to you
