Default State Nomination - Benefits and Disadvantages?

Hi
I'm feeling alot more positive today as the ANC finally answered and recognised my skills (nice to know I am a genuine nurse!).
My question is - has anyone been nominated by a State? If so, what are the benefits and are there any catches? We are looking at Adelaide so it would be sponsorship by SA.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Nathalie,

One of our clients is also a nurse who has accepted STNI to South Australia
and the settlement advantages are pretty good; processing isn't any quicker,
of course, but if you already want to go to SA then I would recommend STNI.

Cheers

Hello Nathalie
I am also looking at sponsorship. I too am a nurse and have received a positive skills assessment. If you check my previous threads i asked the very same question as you but basically it is free and there are no negatives other than you must live in that state. If you want to live there anyway I recommend you go for it as it speeds up your application time. If you go through normal skilled ind visa route wait is approx 50 + weeks but with state nomination it appears to be approx half that time.
Hope this helps
Irene

I think thats me!!

The settlement package they offer in SA is excellent. The STNI application was processed within a week, as George said no quicker with DIMIA as we already get priority :-)

Still feels like a damm long time though.

Good luck with the application.

The skills assessment took about 11 weeks because the ANC closed down for 2 weeks over Xmas - it felt like ages though!
