hi there
i entered Oz 2 yrs ago next month on a spouse visa, after my australian wife & i got married in UK. My visa temporary residency expires next month. I have searched immigration website & they state that 75% of spouse permanent residency visa's take 7-8 months to process.
Does any one have any recent experience of this process & what requirements / hoops are required to process at this stage?

Have you provided DIAC with your current address/contact details? They would be writing to you around now (possibly already) requesting what information they need.

I thought it was new visas that might take 7 or 8 months to process. It sounds like yours is just progressing from temporary to permanent, in which case they should contact you a couple of months before the temporary one expires to request what they need to establish the relationship is ongoing.

The 2 year waiting period starts when you apply for the spouse visa, not when you first entered Australia. DIAC should already have contacted you by now. If not, contact them - urgently. You don't want them assuming you are no longer interested in permanent residence and closing your file ...
