Hi all,

This is really another reassurance thread for those applying for spouse visas - I know I lingered on any success story I could get!

My visa was granted today (monday). I only sent it off on Thursday, so a great time of 1 working day!

I front-loaded the application and didn't use an agent, so I guess I can strongly recommend these 2 things.

Keep in mind those documents for your next application in two years, will make it easier to send off, and quicker too!

Good work doing it alone, we did ours that way too, this forum is such an amazing help isnt it!!

Thanks for the response. I didn't realise you had to send off all those documents AGAIN in 2 years... I thought they checked whether you were still together and such forth. Any more details? Have you been through it?

I'd like to know what happens in the next part of it all too. What do you have to have for them in two years, do you need more medicals and police checks etc?

You need the police checks again and provide evidence as for the first stage that you are still together. Apart from that I don't know

Wow - that's a lot of stuff! Thanks for sharing.

For imate - this is the stuff I sent in order:

1. Application form
2. Sponsor's form
3. Personal documents: passports, birth certificates, marriage certs, police check
4. Statutory and supporting declarations: 2 from aussies on form 888, 4 from friends and families, 1 written by each of us.
5. Financial: joint bank account statements, joint utility bills, joint credit card statements, car insurance cert.
6. Nature of household: Joint bills, supporting statement.
7. Social: list of weddings we'd been to, joint gym membership, a4 sheet with annotated photos.

Ours was pretty concise I spose!
