Default Spouse immigration

hi everyone

I would like to apply the spouse visa for my hubby. By the way, we
need to prepare the statement of relationship history. Did anyone has
apply the spouse visa before and had this statement for me as a sample?

Thanks,
ada

Reading someone elses statement won't really be of much help to you, as it is a very personal statement about your specific relationship. Just make sure to include the progression of the relationship, and some of the particulars about financial and emotional support.

Hi Ada

I just wrote down all the things that the booklet suggests you cover and used them as subheadings: How when and where we met, how the relationship developed, When we decided to marry, How we support each other financially, physically and emotionally, Future plans.

I included things like dating, "our" restaurant, holidays together (with footnotes referencing photos as supporting evidence), when we moved into a flat, when we bought our first property, job changes to suit circumstances, children being born etc.

Then I transferred it into a stat dec format and signed it and got it countersigned.

I then made my hubby sit down and do one too, some people just write one and both sign it I think.

Good luck!

Kerry

It doesnt really matter. Mine was just written out on paper like a 'story', my partners was written in more of a chronologically fashion.

hi Kerry

Thanks a lot for your reply. Actually, I would like to know the format
of the statement. It should be a stat dec, right?

Anyway, thanks for your help!

No, the official requirement is just one statement for the relationship. Its up to you whether you do it as one joint one, or one each.

Mine was about 3 pages with how we met and "fell in love" then more practical stuff about our daily routine, eating dinner together, weekends, to show division of household chores, then finally future plans. They look for consistency so if your partner is writing one too, just make sure all the dates match.
