social worker planning to emigrate to WA
Hi
i am new in the forum but i have been reading alot of threads from alot of yours guys,thanks for the info. Can anybody help!, me and my wife are planning to emigrate to WA from UK,my wife is a social worker did a 3yr full time degree with 2years working experience,has anybody been in this situation and how did you register with AASW,i have been on there website and got some info but still not clear

You dont register with them, you apply to get your skills assessed to see if your qualification meets requirements set by DIAC. http://www.aasw.asn.au/whatwedo/inte...qualifications
You do not need to register with them at any point if you do not wish to as its not a legal requirement.
But first you need to see if you qualify for a visa before spending your money on a skills assessment.

Thank you for the info,still abit far from obtaining a visa and yet to sit the IELTS then will get skills assessed,had some visa assessement with a coupe of immigration agents and they were positive scores.

Hi Gunner91 - Did you pursue this? How did you get on? Anyone else on here made the move to Oz as a social worker? My OH is in child protection as a manager here in UK, she has booked her IELTS for September and we are going to look down the route of going for Skilled Nominated 190 Visa as it will give us both PR (if successful ) because then I can apply for Police (I'm a UK officer)...

Hi Philbo 2005, sorry I wont be of any help to you at this point of time, we have put the move on hold for the moment, but we hoping to start looking at it in the near future, please keep me posted on how you get on and good luck!
