Skilled migrants job matching service

I've been accepted to Australia on a 138-non MODL visa.

A few weeks ago I received an email from immi.gov.au inviting me to sign up to their skilled migrants job matching service which matches/notifies you of employment opportunities in MODL occupations.

2 questions

1. If my job isn't on the MODL list (checked and it's not been added) is there any point signing up?
2. the email outlines the info you need to register including your 'visa grant number'. It then quotes a number in brackets. What is this number? It's totally different to the number on my visa label.

Confused!

Cant help you with your first question but the visa grant number is a number that you are not given automatically.
I had to e-mail my agent and she had to contact our CO for this number. It took about a week to be sent back to us.
Hope this helps a little.
Janice.
