Shipping on a Tourist visa

Hi does anyone know if it is possible to ship house contents from the UK to Australia on a 12 month tourist visa while waiting for a parent visa to clear?

No it is not allowed. Tourist visas are not for sitting out processing times, they are for tourists and tourists don't take their belongings on holiday.

You could look to shipping in somebody else's name however? Still not sure I would do it until the visa is in my hands, you never know what fate might come up with.

bit more detail to add to BS's reply - Most shipping companies ask for a copy of your visa and I doubt that they would be happy to ship an entire house contents for a tourist - once it gets to Aus they have to provide the paperwork to AQIS and Immigration. immigration may well ask questions if they think you are trying to move to Aus on a tourist visa, and may well refuse entry to both you AND the shipment.
