I really hope she changes her mind and give it a go - just because it hasn't worked out for her sister, doesn't mean it will be the same for her - YOU HEAR ME BETH..? Validate at least chick - don't let us all down

Re: September 2007 Applicants
Well we received a reply from our CO just after half ten last night.
Our question to them was...
"It has been over six weeks since you advised us our file was with a Decision Maker. Could you kindly advise me how much longer we should expect to wait for a result? With kind regards, yadda yadda yadda..."
That's not unreasonable is it...?
The response (directly from our COs email address) was...
> Thank you for your e-mail in relation to your visa application under
> Australia’s General Skilled Migration programme.
>
> IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL ASPC CLIENTS
>
> In order to improve our enquiry service from 11 December 2006 all email
> enquiries relating to applications will be handled by the ASPC
> Communications Unit.
>
> FOR ALL ENQUIRIES: This means from this date you will need to submit

So basically, we can't ask our COs any general enquiries. Without wanting to sound too much like a Winging Pom...
COULD SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING A CASE OFFICER IF YOU CAN'T DIRECTLY ASK THEM QUESTIONS REGARDING YOUR FILE :curse: :curse: :curse:
I would be very surprised if she even bothered to look up our file to see what the hold up was.
*sigh* I feel like my hands are tied now, there's little point in chasing things when you just get knocked from one person to the other with no-one taking responsibility for your file... I'm gonna start looking for another job here because I just can't stand this limbo land anymore

I liase with my CO regularly..don't know if thats because it is a regional sponsored migratory scheme visa??!!
it sounds very silly!! As you say whats the point of a CO if you can't ask questions??!!

Nope, I think she's serious Tina... what a bloomin' shame... one of us could have done with that Visa

Really shocked by Beth's news, wish her and her family all the best whatever they choose
Got my little fairy outfit on in the hope it brings everyone good luck this week.
Waving my little magic wand in the air in the general direction of Oz -
"With the power of my girly wand, I ask the nice people in ASPC if they could please finalise all the outstanding visas for all the nice September girls and boys, and pretty please, have a little look and see if you could possibly find my file - good happy karma will then bestowed upon you forever xxxxxx
Right, lets see if that does the trick.
Massive good luck for some good news this week

Re: September 2007 Applicants
Yep, I wrote a rather stinging letter to complain, which they have acknowledgeed the receipt of but not replied to yet.
Probably should not have done it at this stage but felt it had to be said!
I was not complaining about the time scales but the inadequate communication, losing our file, phone system etc etc.
We will probably be blacklisted from Oz forever now but we'll see

Re: September 2007 Applicants
Little update, nothing exciting but might be of interest to others waiting.
Called ASPC last night, didn't get to speak to CO but spoke to nice lady who explained that the DM is often working on 200-300 cases at a time on a rotational basis and basically if he/she has a query on any file then they get sent back to the CO and subsequently put to the bottom of the pile again. Which certainly explains why some of us have been waiting a lot longer than others!!!
Tina, what's the betting we've both got trainee COs!!!
