Hi Everyone... well done on those getting your visas through!!

A quick question... we are about to book flights (return ones as we haven't sold the house yet) but for April... we need to validate the visa before the 24th April, but was wondering if we need to stay in the country for a while? Or can we just holiday for 3weeks and come home? (visa 176)

(it's just my sister in law said they'd started getting strict again -she lives out there... ) So just need a reassurance before we book the flights.

Obviously we'd love to stay out there -but until the house sells we can't boohoo!! very depressing and stressful grrrrr...

thanking in advance...

Hi Purple

Yep, go ahead and book your flights! Hope you have a great time in exactly the same situation as you with the house but we have just validated..... a lovely 2 week holiday in Perth and now those visas are good for 5 years woohoo! We are also on a 176.

Have a great time and book with Singapore Airways if you can... they were fab

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say that we only have 2 weeks left in our house and are in a mega panic now Christmas is over. Shippers start packing on the 9th. (We booed them for the 12th but they brought the date forward - arghhh) Sending stuff ahead and staying in blighty til March which complicates things as we will have to air freight some stuff which we need in the meantime (Closing our business down so lots of paperwork etc)

Happy New Year to you all - where ever you are in the World.

Hi All,

I've lodged a paper based VE 175 Application on March 5th,2008. Any rough idea as to when the case shall be picked up by Case officer?? Anyone lodged the application around that period and had the case officer pick up the case/granted a visa? Can you pls share your experience??

I am from a HR country though...

regards.

happy new year all...

FlyAway - glad you finally got your act together and are on the way here

we've been in Perth for just under a month and so far it's been all
lovely weather, met lots of people, bbq's galore, pool parties - what more can you ask for!

I'll get onto sorting out the little details like a house to live in and jobs soon
