Default Science Graduate as internal. Is it possible?

Hi
I am a graduate in Science (B.Sc). However, I am working as internal
auditor in an accounting firm for last 3 years.

I wish to apply to Vetassess for qualification asst as internal auditor
and from there to apply for SIR nomination to Victoria and SA.

Will I have problems at the time of qualification assessment at
Vetassess or later on with the state nomination or visa officer since I
don't have a graduation in accounting.

Cheers
Dimmy

Hi Dimmy

VETASSESS is no problem for any of their 50 point occupations assuming your BSc is assessed as equivalent to an Australian Bachelor Degree. Your skilled experience requirement is not such an exact science. You need to convince DIMIA that you were working at the high skill level of Internal Auditor throughout the required period. If you are under 30 years of age, this "required period" of skilled work experience is 2 years in the last 3 so you could probably put a good case that after the first year of "traineeship", after 12 months you were performing all the complex duties of an internal auditor. If you are over 29 years of age, you may still be OK if you can get 5 bonus points via an investment of A$100K otherwise you are going to need the extra 10 points for evidencing 3 years, in the last 4 year period, of skilled experience. DIMIA may not readily accept that you hit the ground running as a skillked internal auditor.

So there is an issue there but I think that if it is addressed properly at the time of visa application you should have no problem.

Regards

Tony

Since I am 25 years I dont need to claim points for experience to make
up 100 Points for SIR as state nomination gives me 10 points making
required magical total 110. Now it looks to be alright!!
