Re: Revised Sol..
It is possible that Fire Fighter may be on the new SOL but would you be able to get recognised as such - you would probably need an NVQ 4 or higher qualification and have 1 or 2 years experience as a firefighter, depending on the relevance of your qualification. No NVQ 4 or higher and it would not matter how many years of fire-fighting experience you had, you could not get the skills recognition.

Re: Revised Sol..
Fire and Emergency Workers (and Police) were on a recently published list (by Skills Australia) of specialist occupations that will form the basis of the new SOL. It does not mean they will be on the new SOL but I would disagree with the statement that it is highly unlikely that they will be on the new SOL. Just over 3 weeks until the new SOL announcement is due on 30th April, so it is all still just speculation.

Hi Polly
Paramedics, search and rescue. Skill level for these is AQF cert IV so more likely to be on State Plan lists than the new SOL. I think I am warming to your highly unlikely statement.
