Responsibilities and Privileges question
My 17 Year old had his interview today and they told him there were 5 Responsibilities and 8 Privileges of Australian Citizenship. The book 'A Common Bond' only states 4 Responsibilities and 6 Privileges. Does anyone have any idea what the others are? I have my test this week and am worried I am missing some
Responsibilities
As an Australian citizen you must:
• obey the law
• vote in federal and state or territory elections,
and in a referendum
• defend Australia should the need arise
• serve on a jury if called to do so.
Privileges
As an Australian citizen you have the right to:
• vote in federal and state or territory elections,
and in a referendum

in the Australian Defence Force
• seek election to parliament
• apply for an Australian passport and re-enter
Australia freely
• ask for consular assistance from an Australian
official while overseas
• register children born overseas as Australian
citizens by descent
