companies, as I'm trying to get some quotes?

Try searching under "shipping". There have been loads of posts about this, a lot recently as well.

Hi we are in the same process...... to date
Michael Gerson - very professional price within reason
Robinsons - very professional price within reason
John Mason - very expensive !!!!!!! and quoted for a 40ft when
rest say I only need a 20ft!!!!whose sharing my container????
still waiting for Allied Pickfords and Brittania to send theirs in to us.
will let you know once we decide.

Also we have some cane conservatory furniture and I have had different comments about moving these over
Michael Gerson, Robinsons and Brittania said it would be ok might have to have it fumigated but worth it.
John Mason said dont consider taking it. Cannot decide whether to sell it or not, would rather take it If I can

We are using Crown Relocations to Brisbane, so far they have been excellent, they come on Monday to ship, thing i liked was they do everything both ends UK and Oz, please be careful who u pick as most companies do the shipping the UK end but when ur stuff gets to Oz they tender out the work to other companies, so you don't know who u will end up with, most of the time cowboys, a lot of people have been caught out this way, make sure you ask if the company does it at both ends and doesn't use someone else in Oz.

Make sure any quotation is exactly that. Unseen quotations are not worth the
paper they are written on. Make sure they visit your home and do a proper
quotation. We were under quoted and our furniture was held to ransom until
we paid an extra £1200 which by the way took them from being the lowest
quote to the highest.

We are going with Allied Pickfords....was the middle quote we got, the reason we picked them was because we were recommended them by a couple of friends who used them in the past, and they were superb!!

Gordon went round the whole house with me, into all the cupboards eeekkk and detailed all my stuff.....anything I was unsure of he put on the quote anyway so that I knew if anything the price would go down if i decided to leave stuff behind.......so now I know the MAX price my shipping will be.

Once we have got our stuff to Aussie I will let people know if they lived up to there recommendation
