Default Relative Sponsored Visa

Hi All,

Just wanting to know whats the story with the relative sponsored visa?

My Uncle and Aunt are permanent residents for over 25 years and would more than likely agree to sponsor me.

How does this work and what "Bond" do they need to put up for us?

My Fiance and I are desperate to stay in Oz and we are both down on the SOL so think that this may be the best visa to apply for.

We are currently both on WHV's. Do we have to leave to apply for this or can we apply in Oz and get bridging visas until the visa is processed?

One other thing, my fiance has more solid work experience (primary teacher) but I am the direct relation so who should go down as the primary applicant if we go down this route?

Your fiance can be the primary applicant with you as the defacto spouse. She will need to have her skills assessed first then you apply for the visa.

You will need to leave Australia as the family sponsored visa 176 is an offshore visa, so there is no bridging visa available to it.

Read booklet 6 www.immi.gov.au for relevant information.
