Region 1 = Beijing (China & North Asia), Beirut (Middle East except Israel), Brisbane (South Pacific)
Region 2 = New Delhi (Sub continent), Washington (Americas)
Region 3 = London (UK & Ireland), Berlin (Europe), Bangkok (South East Asia except Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia & East Timor)
Region 4 = Pretoria (Africa), Jakarta (Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia & East Timor)

The regions are the country groupings which DIMIA uses to divide up applications for processing at ASPC. I assume they do this because each region has specific issues unique to those countries, and the agent gain experience in dealing with those specific issues, so they are essentially "specialists" in a particular region. If DIMIA simply gave CO's a random set of applications from all over the world it would take them longer to process them I would guess. So, depending on where you are applying from you will get a CO who specializes in a specific region. Myself, applying from the US and being Canadian had a case officer from region 2.
