questions skilled independent sponsored

hi all,

has anyone applied for the skilled independent sponsored?
did you send the form 28 and 40 (completed by the sponsor and the
assurer) with your visa form to Adelide or did you wait for this to be
requested and if so how long did it take? they ask for tax returns to
be sent by assurer, when do aussies submit their tax returns as they
want copies of the last 2 years of tax returns, if we are submitting
our visas now, for which years do they require tax retturns?
does the skilled independent sponsored take longer than other pr visas
and why?

thanks

Hi
We applied Skilled aus Sponsored in May 2001 to London and we sent the forms 28 and 40 with it with tax assessments for yr end June 1999 and June 2000. So......in Aug 2002 they tell us the TAX Assessments were about to run out and we had to get more for 2001 and 2002 and another form 40! which we did. We've been asked to submit our bond (finally) last week and the visas should be here in a few weeks. Hope this helps.

Hi,

I have just applied under the Skilled Designated Area sponsored
category at the beginning of September 2002 and submitted the new
(July 2002) versions of forms 28 and 40. I am a little worried about
the tax assessments as my sister didn't have the 2001/02 tax return
when she sent me all her paperwork so I've sent in the two previous
years' returns.

I'm hoping that this will be acceptable, but if they're not happy
about this when they get round to processing my appplication can
anyone confirm that they'll just ask me for the latest tax return?

They won't reject the whole application will they?

Hi Elaine
You could always get the latest Tax Assessment from your sister and forward it on when you get your file number They didn't reject ours, just asked us to obtain the latest one, which if we'd have known about it we could have done sooner.

Hi All,

We also just been asked to post bond and we simply put in the "latest" two tax returns my cousin had. Just remember the Aussie tax year runs from 30th June and you have from 1 July 2002 to 31 October 2002 to lodge your tax return. If your sponsor hasn't lodged yet, I suppose immigration can't insist on it but then again, maybe they can. Jaut make sure you tell them that these are the two most recent ones.

Hope this helps

Hi Sue,

Have just read with intrest your thread, we lodged ours in London July 2001 and have not heard anything yet. When were you asked for medicals? we are having ours done although we havn't been asked to.
Was you asked to send bond before med's? or visa versa.
Are you using an agent?

Thanks,
Rick

Hi Rick
We were asked via our agents (Steve Hall and Martin Thompson of Concept Australia) to send medicals/police checks on 8th August 2002, 15 months after application, but there may be some element of "fast-tracking" in there because I'm a nurse (some fast track eh) We were asked to lodge the bond once the medicals had been cleared by Sydney (had a problem with the BP) and now thats lodged just waiting for the visa!

Thanks Sue,

Good idea, as I suspect they will want to see the latest Tax
assessment I'll get onto my sister for it to reduce possible hold-ups.

Out of interest, I assume you submitted medical and police checks on
request? Which came first, the request to lodge the bond or the
medicals, and what was the timing?

Just hoping to get an idea of what might be going on when behind the
scenes...

Hi Elaine
We had to wait till our medicals were cleared before they asked for the bond (had a little problem with the BP). The posting of the bond is one of the last stages, so shouldn't be long for us now :D
