Questions regarding sponsorship
Dear friends,
Certain queries regarding sponsorship, which I have doubt about. I will be very thankful if someone can make them clear for me.
· I am a new migrant with PR in Victoria. Can I sponsor my brother for PR? My cousin with PR (in Australia since last 8 years) living in NSW is ready to give Assurance of Support. Is this called Skilled Australian sponsored (subclass 138)?
· I presume that I just have to fill form 40 & my brother can attach this with form 47SK & submit his application with the correct fees. What about AOS? When will this happen? There is no mention of AOS in form 47SK. There is one application to provide an Assurance of support to be submitted to Centrelink. When should I ask my cousin to fill this form & send it to Centrelink?
· Question No23 in Form 40 says that I have to fill in my visa evidence No.(Ausralian permanent resident). Where can I find this? On my passport, where the stamping of visa is done, there are lot many numbers. Which one I have to write?
· Since my brother is not able to gain 110 marks but his wife has got her skills assessed & is able to gain 110 marks, who will be the main (primary) applicant?
· Where can I find checklist of documents to be attached with the visa application? I thought it is at the end of form 47sk, but I am unable to find it.
· Somewhere on the immi web site, it says that I can pay the visa application fees for my brother & my brother can attach the proof of payment. Does this mean that I make a bank draft of the fees & send it to DIMIA? Since the proof of payment goes with the application, which means that the payment goes to DIMIA before the application is launched. Then how will DIMIA know whose payment is that & in whose account will they keep the payment? If the payment is done by bank draft, what proof will I have to send to my brother to attach with his application?
Thanks.
JASPI.

It is all outlined on www.immi.gov.au website. From what we have read I
believe you can but you would need to check this yourself.

Re: Questions regarding sponsorship
Hi Jaspal,
1. Yes, you can sponsor your brother if you are resident of Australia for 2 years.
2. Your cousin or any one with suitable income can be assurer.
3. your brother will be main applicant, even if your brother's wife can getmore points. DIMA will treat your brother as main applicant and considers his wife's marks for migration.
Cheers!

But I always thought that anyone with PR can sponsor his brother or any blood relative immediatly after landing in Australia if there is someone else to give assurance of support.
