Questions on the pre-grant letter
Hi all, can anyone tell us what the pre-grant letter says?
Why do they issue a pre grant and not Visa letter? How long normaly after they ask for extra info does the pre-grant letter take? We know these time scales are only guides but we are getting impatient now. Applied July 2001, on Mash's spreadsheet. How long after the bond has been lodged, does it take to get Visa? We are putting our house on the market Monday, hope the timings right! Regards Rick & Nicky |

Hi Rick, you hade more info requested early december, have you sent it off or heard anything since? I can't remember whether and when you did medicals. Have you been asked for the bond?
We still haven't heard, and I'm losing the will to get up to see the post now in the morning. Let us know what you've heard.. Mash.. We submitted our medicals 30/9/02 & police checks 9/10/02. We got our pre-grant letter 13/1/03 asking for a Health Undertaking. Yesterday, 25/1/03, we received our visa letter. Yes we have had medicals & Police checks done, both sent Oct 2002, although not requested. We have sent off the additional info they requested back end of 02, this was to be back to them by 29th Jan 2003, we made the deadline. We was just confused to hear that some people seem to get pre-grant letters, whilst others appear to get the Visa. We have nt been asked for any more info. I hope you hear soon. Good luck to you. Thanks Rick....I think grant vs pre grant depends on whether there is anything oustanding, but it's granted in principle.
ie Pregrant, but need to complete change of circumstances and Form 80, or lodge the bond, or wipe your nose! You seem to be very lucky if you get grant straight away, but seems to be to those who have sent everything off in readiness. I have seen neither so I'm guessing :) Mash..
