Please take this with a pinch of salt, but when I asked my agent to chase last week....This was the reply from our agent dated 22 July....

""Hi

I emailed Qld today and they got back to me that they're still on March applications and now estimate another 6-8 weeks just for those ones.""

Was a big slap in the face when I read it too!!
Happy waiting everyone..:curse:

Oh Woody, cheers for that has really cheered me up, ha ha ha. I think the agents always over estimate the time scale so that you are not hassleing them every couple of days and also, when it comes through a bit earlier, you will think they are heros!!!!! Anyway, thats what I am hoping.

Still, if we believe this, then if it does come through sooner we will be chuffed.

we got ack letter (received letter) in two weeks...

btw we've just received our SS from WA today , i dont mind staying there in two years, just replied with 1100 and agreement letter... i think i should withdraw my application in QLD, this will lessen their pile to look into.

it's always good to have options, nobody knows what changes can happen on DIAC's processing, so we must beat the clock while it is still on our favor.

Hi dear friends,

What do you think about applying for other states like VIC or SW(I'm in the job list of both states). I think its better than waiting for 5 or 6 month and in the end possibly nothing!! its a kind of wasting the time.
is it possible that VIC and WA say NOT to our App because of our QLD APP???

eagerly waiting for your opinion.

Green

I have thought about this, I'm in the same situation as you , however, I am really eager to move to Queensland. My Occupation is still on the CSL (But removed from Queenslands list).

Seems that Victoria get a bit upset if you apply for more than one state. As for others WA etc. Don't think there would be anything to stop you.

I'm currently applied on a 175, and probably have just as much chance getting through with that at the current speed of applications.

I'm not sure how many people are working on the applications, but at the timescales suggested now it can't be more than just a few. I think we just need to stay positive here, they can't really have an excuse not to let people know whats going on. esp. those who have been waiting 17 + weeks.

Our QLD SS application was received 02/04/09 and we were quoted 8-10 weeks for processing, i emailed them at 10 weeks and they said it will still be several weeks away - now at week 17 and our agent emailed them for a timescale for a decision - we were told unfortunately due to them being inundated with applications they were way behind with the processing times and to wait maybe another 8 weeks!!!!

Rather than getting nearer - it seems to be getting further away!!

Trying not to even think of 8 weeks time as the way it has been going they will probably then say another 8 weeks!!!!!

True, thing is from a business perspective it's not a service that is going to be generating revenue for Queensland, and hence probably is done on reasonable endeavours basis, at least in terms of the processing of applications. So no reason for them to throw resources at the backlog....

Obviously DIAC pick up the fee at the end of the day but no idea how that gets distributed between the states in the event of a positive 176.

It is what it is, I've stopped looking on the visa progress thing, stopped counting the weeks, stopped checking the post with anticipation, stopped looking at other peoples timelines, well, i never did that to start with. I am concentrating on working hard here and earning some money so that if I ever do get a visa I will have a few extra bucks to help me along. To be honest, the whole thing doesn't even seem real anymore so untill the day that something happens out of the blue it's business as usual for me. Good luck everyone.

Chris.

Thinking about it, I might even buy myself another motorbike, that will be exciting.

I've done the same as you Chrisling. My dad passed away suddenly recently & has made me realise there are some things that i just cant do anything about, & this is one of them!! I've decided to carry on & forget about the process & when anything happens then great but until then i'm just going to enjoy my family.

Dont fancy a motorbike though, a horse maybe
