Hey guys,
I'm an international student (IT stream) here in Australia. I have two
questions:
1. Is the skill matching category effective (i.e. to get a state or
employer nomination)? How do I go about having my resume or
skill-profile included in the skill matching database
(http://www.immi.gov.au/migration/ski...tm#skill_match
and http://www.immi.gov.au/migration/ski...l_matching.htm)? Do I
have to contact someone in-charge or is there a web form to fill?
2. Can I (as an intl. student) apply for state nomination (STNI),
considering that I was working full-time in the IT sector for more
than 4 years, till about 8 months back? If so, then how should I go
about it?
Please help me with these queries. Thanks!

You need state sponsorship before you can think about Skill Matching and STNI as realistic options. Only SA, Vic and Tas sponsor for these visas. And if you do get sponsorship, get professional advice on the visa issues as these visas are offshore ones, not onshore.
