Default Prospective Marriage subclass 300 evidence requirements

I'm going through Prospective Marriage visa to get my Chinese fiance to Australia. We have met twice, once in Guangzhou, and once in Oz.

We have looked at all the information available on the embassy website carefully, and the requirements for this visa only just fall shy of asking us to specify what colour underwear we are wearing.

So we have a few questions about evidence:

We're sorting all our email out. There's probably going to be at least 100 pages, some of which is intimate. Should we submit everything? We have put the sender and date at the beginning of each one. Should we put the time as well? What about the email addresses used. We've both used several different accounts from different ISP's. Should we put the address used at the top of each email?

Same questions about photo's too. Should we put all of them in? There's a couple of hundred there too. We never set the date and time on the camera's used, so the EXIF data contained in each photo just says the default time and date. Is that going to give us issues? We have kept a diary, so we know the dates of each shot. Our intention is to print them on photo paper, several per page, with captions showing the date and a short description. We also plan to put a dvd in with the visa containing all the original photo's so they can be viewed at the higher resolution.

This combined with a heap of other stuff including 15 months of phone records, visa application forms, reciepts, stat dec's, id, passport, boarding passes, itinerarys, financial status etc... is going to total around 350 to 400 pages altogether.

So, considering that this is a Prospective Marriage visa (subclass 300), the big questions we have are...

...Is it too much evidence? Are we being too pedantic?

Thanks for any advice anybody can give?

Rather than submit every email you've exchanged, you could just do a screen grab of your inbox showing that they're in there. Put some in if you like just to give it a bit of weight.

With regard to phots, pick a dozen or so that show you together and include some of you with her friends and family if you have any.

Itemised phone records are good and if you've sent any money then include the transfer receipts if you still have them. Do you have a will or insurance policy with your partner named as a benificiary? Statements from family/friends in support of the relationship? That's all good stuff to help demonstrate the genuine and continuing nature of the relationship.

Here's a link to the DIAC prospect marriage visa checklist if you don't already have it for the other supporting docs: http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/_pdf...-checklist.pdf

Don't include the photos though, scan them and copy a few to a a sheet of A4. they don't want the originals and definitely don't want lots of loose stuff that isn't uniform. I really wouldn't bother with the DVD. All they do on receipt of your application is to pass everything through the scanner. A few pics just showing you as time as passed is all that's necessary.

Yes, it's a bit too much. Copy the boarding passes, itineraries etc onto A4 paper so the page is filled. Too much info will take too much of your time and they won't bother looking at the majority of it. Your stat dec and that of your friends and families shouldn't be too long and that is where they take most of their info from. I had been with my OT for 20 plus years as well as having 2 children and our stat dec ran to about 2 pages of typed double spaced A4. It was a straightforward spouse visa but the theory is the same. Look at it and think of the person reading it all, then remove the excess.

Good luck with it.

Okay. Saves a lot of work for us. I guess that if they want more evidence then they will ask us for it. Ours is a straight forward situation (no previous marriage, no kids, no criminal records, no medical problems, both of us have good financial situation, both over 30 yrs old without any big age difference, english speech/reading/writing is acceptable). There aren't any 'red flags' that we can think of, so I'm fairly confident we will get the visa with minimum hassle.

Thanks for all the info.
