Re: Priority Processing for the new SOL

The reason for these changes is to ...

1. Cut the number of intake unwanted dodgy migrants.
2. Remove the dodgy skill list ( such as hairdresser, taxi driver, cookery skills)
3. Remove the MODL (means no skills on demand and no need to award extra points for applicants)
4. etc ..etc....etc

So you should not expect any more priority process for any GSM visa except ENS type......

I have already submitted an application for one of the affected visas. How does this change affect me?
If you have already submitted a valid application for one of the affected subclasses, this change does not affect you. Your application will be processed as normal and in accordance with priority processing arrangements.

Please try to update yourself by government official websites.

Hope this will help.

There is no priority for new SOL, it just a list means who is eligible to apply for GSM. I think they prop will release a new form of CSL.
for your application, I think you need to phone DIAC about you are on the CSL, coz as far as I know, the current CSL process have already up to feb 2010 (or march?)
Phone DIAC first tell them your occupation is on the CSL

Do a read on immi.gov.au site ..its mentioned crystal clear..

I lodged an application for a GSM visa before the minister announced the new list of occupations. Would I be affected by these proposed changes?

Any pending GSM visa applications lodged before the new list of occupations comes into effect would not be affected by this change.

Who would the new list apply to?

It is intended that the new list would apply to all new GSM applications made from the date of implementation, except where transitional arrangements are likely to be provided for. Subject to the approval of the Governor-General in Council of amendments to the Migration Regulations 1994, it is intended that a new SOL would come into effect from 1 July 2010, along with the transitional provisions detailed below.

It's evident that it will not impact existing applicants.

Re: Priority Processing for the new SOL

But what about people like me who are in MODL, non CSL accountant. would there be in change in process time,as people who apply now(and had there educational assessment in the earlier rule from icaa or CP) seem to have a faster processing.

So I think, IMMI need to bring a new priority processing taking into account the new SOL, to avoid confusion
