Police clearance - primary applicant only?

Hi,
I received the request for meds and police from DIMIA.
The letter only asks for police clearance for the primary applicant. No
mention of spouse's.
Our application includes my entire family (me, my spouse, and two
toddlers), I'm wondering why they asked only for my police clearance?
Is this a mistake on their part? Should we go ahead assume they would
need hers as well? [Would rather not do so, to save on expenses].
We didn't include any such clearance when we submitted the initial
application.
Thanks.
-Francis

I was under the impression that for PR visas police checks were required for all adults, certainly was in our case.
I don't know where you're located, but UK police checks are £10 per person, so not a huge expense.
You could email your CO to confirm, or just get checks for everyone just in case. It's really up to you to get confirmation if you think there's been a mistake.

Please ignore me this time. Just got it sorted out with them. Yes,
all adults have to get clearance.
Thanks.

Hi Francies,
Same thing happen to me a s well.... I put my wife also with my application and currently she is live in UK.. My wife hasn’t got her PCC request to London where she is living. Most importantly both of us have not got our medical checks request as well. I’m really puzzled as of what we can do about this and how to go about doing the things. Pls advice me on this.
Ps: The only correspondence that I have had so far from DIMIA is the acknowledgement e-mail.

Requests for medicals and police checks do not come with the acknowledgement.
If you want to do police checks from anywhere that can take a long time, use form 47P:
http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/47p.pdf
Do your medicals when DIMIA ask you to, not before. Same goes for police checks from your country of current residence.

When CO assigned, you will be requested all necessary documents for further processing. All documents you have to send is described in the letter form CO.
Co usually requests PCC for the country you have lived for "nearly" 12 months. (Although it is less than 12 months (10 or 11 month), Co often require it for those country)
