Hi All,
I have the following questions regarding the letters that I received
from DIMA:
1.Police clearance letter.
My wife has been living in US for two years. Does she need only US
Police clearance letter or she will also need one from her country.
2.Evidence that my sponsor has been living in a designated area for
the last 12 months prior to my application and current address.
Can anyone tell me what kind of documents my sponsor must provide me?
3.Last entry date.
I am not quite ready yet to move to Australia by March 2005 if my
application is approved. To my knowledge, I must enter Australia by
Feb 2005 because I was asked for my medical check in March 2004. I am
wondering if I can delay my last entry date to Australia.
Please advise.
Regards,
Joe

Hi,
Your wife must provide a police check from every country she has lived in for 12 months or longer.
From what I've read on here unless you have very mitigating circumstances you can't prolong first entry.
Sorry can't answer the question about sponsorship
Good Luck

you MUST enter Australia before the initial entry date otherwise the visa will be invalid.
For example my initial date is July 2004, hence I'm flying to Australia in June.
You can enter Australia before the initial date to valid your visa and then fly back the day afterwards and head back to Australia 1 year later for example.
I'm not sure on the evidence side, I would recommend reading the immigration booklet to find what documents they need.

I think although its difficult to delay first entry, that all you really need to do is go into the country, get your visa validated then you could leave the same if you liked and return when you were ready?? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!!
