police check in australia (all names?)
Hi everyone.
I have applied for Australian police record check. However they got my name wrong. Next week I will just reapply, here is the detail.
I am Indonesian citizen. Untill 15 year old, I was Chinesse citizen. I have been studying in Australia for 7 years, I am planning to apply for permanent resident visa (on-shore overseas student).
My name was
Wong Wing Wung (not a real name)
Then I changed name to
Andrew Alpha Bravo, (not a real name either)
Then I changed my name again to
Andrew Alpha
I applied for police check in Australia
The form has these field:
Family name (current) : [..............................]
All other Family names used : [..............................]
Given names : [................................]
I have put:
Family name (current) : Alpha
All other family names used : Bravo, Wong
Given names : Andrew
and I put a note that of my names:
Wong Wing Wung
Andrew Alpha Bravo
Andrew Alpha.
However the police check that they give me says
Andrew Alpha
and maybe
Andrew Bravo
or Andrew Wong. <----wrong (should be Wong Wing Wung).
I think somehow their computer can not accept that first name
is different.
Have anyone got similar experience? Any suggestion?
Do I need to include all my previous names, eventhough I used that name while I was not in Australia?
Many thanks,
Andrew

OMG I'm confused!!!
IMO, if the name you used in Australia matches up to either your current passport and/or birth certificate you should be fine. One of the wiser (ie moderator/agents ) maybe able to clear this up for you for definite though.
