Points Test Help
I want to immigrate to Australia through the skilled independent cat but have
realised that i am short of about 5 points (110 pts). Does anyone know whether they
would even consider my application. I am willing to put in more $$ if needed.Has
anyone in the same situation managed to get their PR. Would appreciate your advice.
Thanks!!

With 110 points, you will not meet the passmark, and therefore, you will be kept in the "pool" for up to 2 years, with the hope that when/if the passmark drops, your application will be revisited. Being in the "pool" isn't the best value-for-money one can hope for with the application fee of AUD1,700+.
You say you're willing to put more money, but what do you mean by that? If you have AUD100,000 to spare, you can possibly get extra 5 points if you invest that amount of money in an Aussie government approved instrument.

Re: Points Test Help
As Peter says, applying with 110 points is taking a risk with your A$1745.
Why not apply for Skill Matching directly? No initial cost (other than skill
assessment) and try for a regional nomination. Depending on your skills, you could
talk to Victoria or South Australia:
