Points for Credentially Community Language

I really need help on this..
N
I'm planning to apply 189 visa and have been trying for the past 1 year.
Currently I have 55 points.
I have taken IELTS test thrice but could not able to
get 7 in each component to get 10 points, getting missed only in
writing,6.5 once and 6 twice.Since my occupation is software engineer,I don't have chance for state nomination also.

While preparing for test again,I would like to explore
other possibilities as well.

My first language is Tamil, but I studied English medium
throughout my academic period. However I studied Tamil
as one of the paper in my Secondary,Higher Secondary and
Graduate programs.

One of my friend told me that if I had studied Tamil as one of the
paper in graduate programme, I would be eligible to claim
5 points under credentially community languages factor

Kindly enlighten me.

Re: Points for credential community languages

The credential language point require to to have NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) qualification at the appropriate level.

Re: Points for Credentially Community Language

Not my understanding. My understanding is that in order to get points for community language you have to get accreditation from NAATI, which is expensive and very tough. It is not about you knowing the language, but about being able to translate into English and back again.
