PMV.AOS bondand costs?
 

I am looking at the requirements for the PMV and get more confussed by the minute:confused:.What is this bond they talk about?Is it required for someone of working age? Also the costs to be paid back to the welfare.I intend to look for work as soon as I arrive, so what costs would these be?Any help please.

The bond is an assurance that you will be financially taken care of by your fiance/spouse when you arrive and not dependant on the government. Yes, it is for someone of working age. The costs to be paid back to welfare means that for any reason if you need unemployment payments or other welfare your sponsor will pay back those payments to the government.

Intending to look for work and actually working are two completely different things. On a PMV it's not always easy to get work since many employers only see it as a temp visa and do not understand that you can work permanently. It's also not always a matter of just rocking up to an employer and getting a job. There are loads of stories on here of people with 10, 20 or more years experience who are unable to find jobs for months at a time due to licensing restrictions, no Australian experience and any other number of factors.

Ok thanks.Can anybody tell me how much a bond is for a PMV? Also do these welfare costs that may have to be repayed inclide medical costs?
