Pls help!

My nominated occupation is not electrician and I plan to go Oz on SIR visa. If I have a electrical cert acquired in my home country but with only 1 yr of experience, can I get a licence in Oz? What is the procedure like? Or do I have to undergo apprenticeship in Oz before I can apply for one? I understand that if one goes on SIR visa, he must complete at least 1 yr of full time employment of any job on the SOL list to be able to apply for concessions pts for PR, but does electrician apprenticeship counts as a job on the SOL list? SOL lists General Electrician, does that mean a licensed one or apprenticeship counts? Sorry for so many questions but all these stuff on certs and experience seem really confusing to me!

Under SIR, if I were to apply an electrician job as an apprentice,(meaning working under supervision and no license) do or can I use it to fulfill the 12 month SOL time frame? Or it means that I have to qualify under SOL as a license technician?

You can't migrate as an apprentice electrician. You need to pass the
assessment as an electrician. This is similar, but not the same as
getting a licence to be an electrician.

Once you migrate you then need to get a licence to work as an
electrician. You could work as an apprentice if you wanted to and you
wouldn't need a licence-although I don't know why you would want to do
this.

Licencing for electricians is governed by state law and each state has
slightly different requirements-eg the laws regarding electrical safety
are different in each state.

Immigration is federal law. Therefore it is the same for the whole
country. That is why there is a difference between being an electrician
for migration purposes and an electrician for work purposes.

This is confusing I know but I hope i've clearedit up a bit.
