Phd or not ?

Greetings,
I am thinking about moving to Austraila in the next coming year(s), and with a
Masters degree in computer science & some work experience it should hopefully not be
a big problem.
However, I also have the option of doing a Phd in signal processing/communcation, which
would require another 3 years. Living in a scandinavian country I would be paid for this
position, although the pay is not much compared to the wages in the IT industry.
As part of a Phd position I would also be required to hold some lectures. So my first
question is: will this Phd position be acknowledged as work experience ?
Most importantly, I would like to get some suggestions on whether or not I should go for a
Phd. Will that make me over-qualified in Australia ? Or is a Master degree enough to get a
reasonable job ?
I will appreciate your answers.

Hi Mr ABCX,
A PhD will probably not count as work experience, however it might make a useful basis for
an employer sponsorship later on. One option would be to consider making a PR application
now and then using that visa to migrate to Australia when the PhD is completed. This would
give you considerable freedom in the labour market.
