Hi All,

Im a little confused about the number form i need to fill out and if i can do it online for Permanent residency.

Here is my current situation:

- I am 27 and been living here for over 3 years on a 457 visa.
- I would be applying under the Marketing Specialist section for occupation of the visa.
- I ill have 3 years experience Marketing experience within Australia shortly

Unfortunately my company, bless em won't assist me with my residency. As they are saying that they would have to prove that there are no Australian Citizens with the qualifications to do my role.

** Can anyone provide me with a case I can go to them with because if i could prove that they can without any issue legally sponsor me for residency then i think they would do it?

If they wont do that then I obviously need to go it alone. If anyone can tell me a rough guide to processing times for this then that would also help.

Please if anyone is reading this I am getting really nervous and after 3 years living and working out here really dont want to have to go back to the UK.

Any assistance you can provide will be really helpful!!!

If you can't convince the employer, you still have an independent route open to you - provided you meet the eligibility criteria and score enough points on the points test. I highly doubt though, that the marketing specialist is on any priority list, so you may be in for a long wait until the visa is granted.

Start at www.immi.gov.au for both employer sponsored and independent skilled visas.

Why on earth do they think that? That requirement was removed back in 2005.

Have you read booklet 5 on the DIAC site?
