Payment by money order to Engineers Australia
My credit card payment has failed twice.
Now I want to pay them by money order.
Is there anybody who has done it before?
How long does it take to remit by money order?
How to do it?

Re: Payment by money order to Engineers Australia
I have two options now:
1. Make a DD and send by post. But it will take time.
2. Ask for their bank account details and do an online remittance. It's much faster.
However they have nowhere mentioned these details nor did they suggest about such a procedure in the emails that they sent me.
They asked me to send by Money order or cheque.
I don't know what to do. I sent them a query asking for account details.

Is there any difference between demand draft and money order?

dd/ money order to Engineers Australia
"money order" is the kind you'd get from WESTERN UNION, "demand draft" is the kind you would get from a BANK (if u opt for DD, it should be drawn on a bank in Australia) normally a DD is cheaper and better than an MO
either one should be payable to "Engineers Australia" and the amount should be in AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS, amount should be 450, the last time i checked...
**they will NOT BE SUPPYING YOU WITH ACCOUNT DETAILS, so a "wire transfer" is out of the question...u need to get that DD or MO which looks like a fancy cheque, and send it by courier to the Barton, ACT address as soon as possible...good luck

Re: Payment to AU
no probs, qadir, make sure you inscribe your name and d.o.b (in soft pencil) on the back of the DD/MO so that they can trace it to your application, also an A4-size typewritten letter stating all personal details like they were on the CDR application! (nominated occupation, date of birth, country of quals etc... ) and moreover, explaining your situation of the CC payment problem will help EA tally it...
you should also use a tracker mail since that will be the only way you can trace your DD, when it reached etc...and the bank (in case of DD) or MO-issuing organization can let you know when it gets cashed provided you keep a photo-copy of the same "fancy cheque"
o ya, 2 answer ur qus: u most probably need an account in the bank for them to issue an DD and they will deduct an equivalent amount from it...but you can carry cash in local currency to a WESTERN UNION or similar org to get an MO in foreign currency, some very large or nationalized banks also will provide a DD to a non-account holder, but don't quote me on that...
