British passports in Australia are issued by the British High
Commission in Canberra.

The cost of a UK passport is higher outside the UK - the Foreign
Office charges GBP49 local currency equivalent. Compare that to what
UKPS charges for UK residents:

If your passport is expiring in the next few years, consider renewing
it in the UK.

My dad gets his done at the British consulate office on the corner of
Collins Street and Elizabeth Street Melbourne 17th Floor, coz its closest to
where he lives, but if one can then each of the state consular offices can
do it

Jaj is either telepathic or maybe something to do with the time difference. I choose the latter.
