Chris If you're in Australia on the expiry date the visa remains valid until you
leave the country.

If you're outside Australia on the expiry date the visa ceases on the expiry date. In
order to return as a resident, you must get a Resident Return Visa (easy enough as
long as you've lived 2 years out of the previous 5 in Australia as a PR, it's harder
if you haven't met this requirement).

Thanks, I take it none of that applies if you've taken citizenship?

Chris.
