Hi citizens of Limbo,

With all the latest bad news, would be useful to get together sometime during Migrate 2002 to share sorrows?

Also, should we offer our services to help out at the visa office (those of us who might be able to)?

Looking on the bright side
1. Fast tracking Nurses (good thing) may mean they have nearly cleared the IT backlog??
2. On July 1st there should be a sudden spurt of visa's

Now that's optimism for you. See, you're Aussie already. Me, I'm still a Pom pessimist.

No, fast tracking for nurses/IT means everyone else on the sidelines. And with all that's going on it could be a LONG wait.

Barramundi anyone ?

Nigel & Sally, which part of Oz are you heading for? We were hoping to meet up with anyone going to Perth like us.

We'll probably be there on Saturday, on our way to Melbourne (someday).

We will be there on Friday and Sat. Took someone's advice about not booking too many seminars on one day. Also aiming for Melbourne.

Partial to Pendulum

Hi,

You need to examine the IT specialisations listed on the MODL (Migration Occupations
in Demand List) and state the item, eg Oracle, in which you have at least 12 months
experience. ACS will then determine if this is indeed true.

Being on the MODL is worth five points! And it is essential that ACS indicates in
their assessment that you have the 12 months experience.

The MODL on our website at http://firms.findlaw.com/JSUppal/memo56.htm lists the
following IT specialisations:

Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase SQL Server, PowerBuilder, Java, Java Script,
C++, Delphi, Visual Basic, Lotus Notes, Advanced Web Design, ASP, Xml, Java Security
and Electronic Commerce (programming skills, not business skills), Firewall/Internet
Security, SAP, PeopleSoft, Siebel, Data Warehousing, Unix, Solaris, Linux, Project
Management, Systems Analysis, Broad Commercial Business Understanding, Overall
e-commerce

Ciao
