Default overseas students new grad visa

it says "overseas students who graduate in Australia with a tertiary
degree will be able to apply for an 18-month work visa in Australia."
any one have any idear what this is ?

it's a new work visa to allow overseas students to get work experience in australia. It's part of the new immigration changes that they're doing.

Before overseas students were exempt from the 2 year skilled work experience requirement provided that they had studied in australia for the 2 years. now they're saying that students will require some work experience in order to apply for PR...

or so my OH's been told by the internation student advisor at college

True, probably the Occupational Training or Special Visa...catch is you
need to find sponsoring employer...more likely in regional areas unless
you have some very special subject area. Ciao Andrew www.aiec.biz
