Question onshore medical questions! plse help 457 visa

hi all
we are about to book medicals through HSA in Bris Vegas as we are living here!

what do we need to take with us? do we need our medical records from the uk? if undergoing treatment here (for cancer) that was diagnosed and treated here, what should we take?

should they want australian gp record of medication e.g the pill and or anti depressants if only from GP.

just been told no more cancer or follow up or treatment required. just periodic check ups that will be paid for by work or recipricol

It does say this on the HSA page but wondered what else people were asked or had to take?

Medical Examination by a HSA doctor
Chest X-ray by HSA or HSA-approved Radiologist ( if you have had a Chest X-Ray by Health Services Australia onshore in Australia in the past 12 months, relating to an Immigration medical, then you will need to telephone for your appointment rather than book the appointment on line please)
Nurse Screening - eye test, height, weight, urine test

If BMI are high, and are losing weight and all blood pressures are normal and stopped smoking for over 6 months and sugar levels normal so no risk of diabetes = what can i say to put us in a better light?

You will almost certainly need quite detailed information regarding your recent cancer diagnosis, treatment and prognosis - likely from your specialist but perhaps your GP also.
If you have any other significant medical history at all from before you moved to Australia you will probably be asked to provide information from UK GP/specialists.

Although it is ideal to take this information with you, if you don't have any of this information you can still go to your medical. Declare everything and after your medical you will be advised on what information you need to then provide, or whether you need to see a specialist for a report.

Please remember that any reports you need for immigration purposes either from your GP or specialists will likely incur a fee as neither the UK NHS or Medicare cover the costs of this work.

I didn't take anything from the UK - just made sure I filled in the forms (26 and 160 or something like that) really thoroughly - I included every flu and broken bone I could remember. I would in your case take all the info you have relating to the cancer - including a letter from the specialist saying it's gone and no treatment needed except check ups etc.

should they want australian gp record of medication e.g the pill and or anti depressants if only from GP.

They don't need the GP record - but make sure it's all declared including contraceptive pill, hayfever etc. They may want a letter about anti-depressants and a letter to state current condition

just been told no more cancer or follow up or treatment required. just periodic check ups that will be paid for by work or recipricol

If your BMI is high just ensure you state that you are lsoing weight etc. They will check BP and urine protein so if they are all normal you shoudl be ok.

Good luck!

By my calculation the total cost would be $283 for everything at HSA's capial city offices.
More if you need Hep B/C and more for some regional centres.

Thanks for that

This looks like it's cheaper to do it here in Aus than in UK as I think I paid the above in pounds?

Thanks again much appreciated
